Kelowna Trip with tim, peter, rachel, courtney, trevor, and vangie
wow...that was my word for the weekend...just plain old wow. when rachel told me we were going to kelowna for an overnight trip and a conference, i was thinking it would be this big huge thing with tons of teens and adults like at the one we went to in april or may. problem was, courtney and i were fighting so i wasn't sure if i wanted to spend 8 hours in the car with someone who was mad at me. Luckily, we made up quickly and had lots of fun on the way there playing hangman, mash, drawing, getting in trouble for mp3 players, threatening tim and peter with ponytails....and lots of other stuff. oh, and the store ladies...cant forget the store ladies(there was this lodge place in like merrit or something and we stopped there both ways and we were gonna get tim a make your own tutu or tiara set but we didnt and on our way out courtney and i yelled bye store ladies both times ) anywho, when we were driving, we were listening to some christian music and god of wonders came on and we were driving through some of that amazing scenery so i was singing and thinking about how God created all this awesome scenery and yeah so i started to get like pumped up kinda. THEN WE GOT THERE...lol there was this frankly...well lets just say the pizza here is better than there...but hey they got it for us so yeah that was cool. the church was old and small and i'm thinking ok...this is gonna be shall we say INTERESTING...and we were all really tired so we were like dozing and stuff...then we went to winners and tim and peter were teaching each other how to skip like little girls....
ok well we browsed thru winners and peter and tim were trying to arrest us with flashlights in boxes lol...and we almost bought boxers...except they were kinda all creepy lol...IF you know what i mean...lolafter that, we went...oh wait we did that before the pizza...then after pizza we went to walmart and my card didn't work oh well but i got a cool awesome tshirt with betty boop saying punk rock isnt dead...it was awesome...lol...then we went back to the church and we were like changing in and behind the car when we got inside, there was like nobody there and i thought we were early. then we registered, and that was when we saw the sign.DOORS OF PROMISE ART SEMINARART SEMINAR?! we couldnt believe it. four hours of stupid games and being cramped in a car and we were going to an ART seminar?we went in and sat down and it all began. (btw--->the flooring in the bathroom is the same as the stuff that was in the bathroom of the other conference we went to in april lol Katnee )There couldn't have been more than 40 or 50 people there, most of which were between the ages of 25 and like 50...so i was like this is dumb i dont care what happens...i sat there, took a few notes, wrote parts of my new story, and texted on my phone. i was severley bored and then we had a break where we tried limes lolololafter the break maryjennel preached more then there was a prayer time. I sorta prayed but not too much...courtney got lots out of it i think tho, which was good.We went to Pastor Mark's house and then went in the hottub at like 1145pm or so after a run to 711. we goofed off, kicking tim for touching us cuz his legs are so long he was like longer than the hottub lol and told weird storiesit wasnt until the next morning that anything really hit me. Pastor Mark started preaching to us and at first i was so tired that i didn't pay much attention. Then he started to say really interesting stuff and i began taking notes.when he said he had had visions of some of us that he wanted to share i got nervous and fidgety. First he went to courtney, then to tim, then to peter. And by this time i was like...oh so he doesnt have one for me and i was kinda pouting in the corner. when he finished with peter, he stopped for like an entire minute and i'm like NO!!! he doesnt have one!!! But then....
**BE THE SOLUTION** (my new fav phrase)when he came over to me, pastor mark said, "Kelly, you know i know nothing about you, right?"at that point i was like...ooooohhhhhh crap lol...peter kept laughing and grinning and stuff and i was like oh shut upthen he started talking abt how he saw great pain or whatever...anyway what he saw was totally cool cuz it was totally mei was so like impressed. it was amazing then he gave me the verse, romans 8:28-30, which was really funny cuz i go to a christian school and back in grade seven, i was supposed to memorize that verse but i never did, so it was funny. anywho, the verse says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified."and he also told me not to let the dysfunctions of others affect who I am.he also told me that out of all of this i would be like an eagle who can see into peoples hearts. that especially, along with the from the ashes will arise gold thing, spoke to me because so far, i have been known to be an amazing judge of character so yeah that was cooland uh to finish off, maryjennel or mark or sandy or someone said that tim, courtney, peter, and i would be the core of our youth group (not to insult anyone else--->you guys are all majorly important luv you all!) and that was really cool...so, we all had tons of fun...and we all became way closer and it was really funny cuz some of us got some new nicknames...lol well that's the story...of kelowna.....so then we came back and all the way back it was christian music when we got back we had a huge prayer service at youth and everyone was touched in one way or another...and it was just this really powerful amazing thing...youth lasted til eleven pm and then the next day we were kinda like family...it was really cool cuz somehow we all just ended up in the kitchen together goofing off...but yeah it was really really coolso then on sunday morning me courtney peter and tim got onstage and spoke a little about the trip and saturday night and then the whole youth group got up onstage and prayed for pastor doug which was cool.so yeah and then tomorrow night i get to see everyone at youth bible study!!! well thanks for reading everyone! <3<3<3<3 Kelly!!!
